About the Role

This is role will see the successful candidate supporting and educating families in reducing conflict and improving family functioning. 

You will also be providing intergrated support including counselling and group work to achieve workable parenting arrangements, while managing caseloads in line with all regulatory guidelines and policies.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering a collaborative working relationship with other Family Relationship Services programs and external agencies
  • Assisting separated families who are in high conflict to adjust to family separation 
  • Proactively promote and support a culture of child safety and relevant cultural connection for all children including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children with disabilities, children who may be gender diverse or children who may be culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD)

What You Will Bring to the Team

To be considered for this role, you must hold, at minimum tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling, Psychology or equivalent. 

Critical to your success in this position will also be the demonstrated ability to implement relevant, evidence-based theories and techniques while screening, assessing and responding to complex client needs.

Other requirements for this role include:

  • Ability to apply the principles of “best interests of the child” to client work
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy and presentation skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence, including the ability to understand and manage oneself and the impact of actions on others
  • Organisational, time management and planning skills
  • Driver's licence and a valid Working With Children's Check
